The day after our first real 2020 snow event. I only had a a short time before dark so staying in my neck of the woods was the best option. I arrived on the stream and just as I expected it was empty. No foot prints in the snow. The stream partially iced over. It was perfect.
I could tell this was going to be a good session. Winter fishing is probably my favorite season. I dont mind cold weather. Its worth it for the solitude, quiet, it feels all too surreal. And thats without even wetting your line. The fish are a bonus.
I fished only for about an hour but landed about 12 fish. It was hard to keep them off the line. They were down deep in the pools as expected and hitting hard.
