Swing and a miss!

Posted on January 24, 2021March 1, 2021 by Matt

There is an UNT that has been on my list to check out for a while now. I finally got around to checking it out on what seemed to be our coldest day we’ve had this year. There are two access points that i was able to pin point into the public land to gain access to the stream.

Keeping in mind I had no idea what this water looked like. If it even had any fish in it, or was even fishable at all. Usually the closer you can access a tributary to its confluence the better the fishing would be. Also that gives you the ability to walk upstream to fish instead of approaching them from their view upstream.

Unfortunately the only access without stepping through private property would put me at the headwaters, the furthest place from its confluence. So to say the least I did not have high expectations. Not only from that assumption but also from the fact that I crossed the stream on the way about 2000 yards from its location in the woods and it looked like it was only 2 maybe 3 feet wide.

Regardless of any successful fishing, the hike out in the woods in the brisk cold temperatures was enjoying in its-self. On the way out I stopped by a local spot and was able to pick up a brown.
