Had a late start this morning but really wanted to take advantage of the recent snow fall and the scenery it provides in our beautiful PA forests.
The mountain was still pretty caked with snow and after seeing an Audi struggle mid turn and turn around I was having second thoughts But my Continental Winter Contact SI tires proved to have no issues yet again as we plowed straight up and through with no problems.
It was now time to gear up and start the 1.5mi trek through the thick forest while following my OnX mapping system to get to the water. After about 30 minutes getting through the woods the green trees and rhododendron was able to be spotted and I knew we were close.
We did some more exploring then fishing as we didn’t have much time. We wanted to make sure we had enough light and time to get out of the woods and and down the mountain. Getting stuck out in a remote area in the dark would not be ideal. A few fish were hooked up with but only one landed.
Upon walking the stream we encountered a housing structure with a creepy man inside.
After realizing it was already 2pm and the hike back up the mountain would probably take at least an hour to get back up with the incline and the snow, we headed out. On the way back down the mountain we encountered a jeep brigade.
