I’ll keep this one short. Mainly because it was a long cold days fishing. I actually didn’t even intend to fish today as I expected the next outing to be the weekend, giving the ice and cold water a chance to thaw and warm. I was working on a few projects for my side hobby over at IlluminationAuto.com when I noticed it started to snow I think around 9am.
At 10am i decided I would go check just to see what the water was looking like compared to yesterdays slushy. I also was going to quickly prospect another waterway as I was preparing to fish it in hte coming days. When I stopped at the first stream I was happily surprised that it was gin clear and free of any Icey obstacles. This also sucked however because I was not prepared or in the mindset to fish. Well, I was here now so I might as well.
As I expected that turn’t into a good 5 hours or so of unexpected fishing. However it was my redemption day. For the most part the fish were not cooperating. But there came a 2 hour window or so where they finally turnt on. I worked the entire stream and landed around 12 fish, with about the same amount rolled or lost. I believe there was also probably at-least 3 or 4 fish over 14″ and two over 18″. It ended up being a nice mixed bag of browns and bows.
I pretty much tight lined all day with a hares ear, egg and other randomly switched out point fly the entire time. Id say 95% of the fish came on the olive hares ear. With all that said, enjoy the pics and video.
